Dmitry Krylov

Was born in 1989 in Leningrad. From the age of 10 he studied in V. V. Nikiforov’s class to play the baritone saxophone and at the same time began to play in a brass band under the guidance of a mentor, in which he won first place at a competition in Belgium. During his studies, he became a laureate of many city competitions. From the age of 15 he switched to trombone. In 2006—2010. studied at the St. Petersburg College of Music. Mussorgsky in the class of K. Ya. Lobikov. In 2008 he became a laureate of the All-Russian competition named after I. Yu. A. Bolshiyanova in Krasnodar. In 2010 he entered the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov in the class of People’s Artist of Russia, Professor V.V.Sumerkin. In the same year he became an artist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Capella of St. Petersburg.

During his studies, he took an active part in master classes of the world’s best trombonists: Joseph Alessi, Jorgen van Ryen, Charles Vernon, Christian Sprenger. Dmitry Krylov is a soloist of the Olympic Brass ensemble. Laureate of the international competition “Silver Sounds-2017”. Participant of the XI International Competition. Tchaikovsky. Soloist of the St. Petersburg House of Music. He performed solo with orchestras in Russia and abroad in Austria, Argentina, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Portugal, Slovenia, Czech Republic and other countries. As a soloist he collaborated with V. A. Chernushenko, A. V. Chernushenko, A. A. Shakhmametyev, A. A. Karabanov and other conductors.

Currently, Dmitry Krylov is the concertmaster of the trombone group of the Symphony Orchestra of the Capella of St. Petersburg, assistant trainee at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (class of I. Yu. Yakovlev).
