St. Petersburg Capella Symphony Orchestra
- Conductor – Alexander Chernushenko
- The concert starts at 19:00
- The average duration of the concert is 2 hours with intermission
The St. Petersburg Capella Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Chernushenko is a successfully and dynamically developing group. He has won well-deserved recognition in Russia and abroad, collaborating with renowned soloists and conductors. The rich and varied repertoire of the orchestra is distinguished by an attractive combination of classical traditions and original creative experiments. The upcoming season will not be an exception. The monographic program of the most interesting of the romantic composers A. Dvořák will include a Cello Concerto interpreted by A. Rudin and the Seventh Symphony.
The large-scale symphony of the St. Petersburg composer Viktor Pleshak “The New Silk Road” is a modern manifestation of the craving for the East inherent in Russian creators. On the pages of the score, the exotic world of the Middle Kingdom comes to life with original instrumentation and unexpected allusions to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The Bible and music – their combination prompted the Israeli composer, poet and scholar Baruch Berliner to create the symphonic poem “The Creation of the World” declared in the cycle.
The concert with the soloist Jeroen Berverts is magnificent for its genre palette. The top-class trumpet player will not only demonstrate his boundless possibilities in interpreting the virtuoso classics of Hummel and the bright compositions of our contemporary H. Gruber, but also perform as a singer (Berwerts’ second education is jazz vocals) with J. Brel’s orchestral songs.
